8-9-20 2Kings2 "Dealing with Time of Questions"
2 Kings 2 – “Dealing with Time of Questions”
Why We Question
We have questions when something we associate with God’s presence changes.
Elijah was an important figure who Elisha was clinging to (vs2, 4, 6).
Losing Elijah was heart-wrenching for Elisha (vs11-13).
We experience these changes through loss or unfulfilled desires.
Ask God
Asking God seems basic but is often neglected.
God is the only one that it makes sense to ask.
The Psalms are full of examples of taking questions to God and the effect it has (10:114, 13:15-6, 22:1/3).
You must bring your questions to God, and you will be strengthened in faith.
Step Out
Answers often don’t come the way we would like.
The whole time, God was right where He said he would be (vs10).
The more Elisha stepped into that role, the more assurances he had of God’s presence.
We must act in obedience and let God reveal Himself step by step.
